A Winning Commitment

Team Berryman, Liqui Moly, usaautomotivesupply.com, Stevens-Miller Racing, powered by PREFIX has upped their commitment to winning adding a brand new 2018 Mustang for this weekend’s Detroit Grand Prix.

“I sat down with my father and we discussed where we are and where we want to be,” Team Owner Joseph Stevens said. “We agreed we did not start this team to simply compete-we started this team to win races and to give our drivers the equipment they need to do just that-win.

“Since the last event at Miami Homestead we’ve done extensive testing-on the dyno and on the track. As much as we are recognized as the “Dodge” team in fact we also run a Camaro for Anthony Honeywell. Our engine partner PREFIX has done a great job not only with our Dodge 392 Hemis but also with the Chevrolet LS3 in Anthony’s car. The success PREFIX has had with the Honeywell car has helped them sell 20 LS3 packages to date. We put Marc Miller in Honeywell’s car at one of our tests and the results spoke for themselves…. If we were going to win – and I mean the championship-we had to make a change,” Stevens said.

“Ultimately the Dodge just can’t get it done. We have the power but due to the weight distribution of our Challengers the Ford and Chevys have a definite advantage.” To address this the team built up a brand new 2018 Mustang for Marc Miller to race at this weekend’s TA2 doubleheader at the Detroit Grand Prix.

“We will be the only team at Detroit to field cars from all three brands (Dodge, Chevrolet, and Ford) and the only team to field four cars,” Stevens said. “It’s been a ton of work to prep everything and build a new car but my guys are the best. We’re coming to Detroit with our guns loaded. We’re hungry for our second win!”

With three races complete and Marc Miller is in a tie for fourth in the championship and Ethan Wilson is in a four-way-tie for seventh and leads the rookie of the year standings.

“There is a lot to play for at Detroit,” Stevens said. It is a double race weekend on a tight and unforgiving street circuit where anything can happen. The addition of our new Mustang will insure Marc Miller has the best tool for the job. Ethan Wilson is always improving and was known for his street circuit wins during his karting career. Anthony Honeywell will be back in his striking yellow and black Camaro and Paul Terry will join Wilson in a second Dodge. The Detroit races will be broadcasted live on Motor Trend TV so be sure to tune in-it’s going to be exciting” Stevens said.
